"they don't give machine guns to the people stacking blankets in the back"

The week went QUICK, but it also feels like New Years EVE was like 4 months ago, strange huh?
We haven't had a ton of luck this week. We met a girl named Bethany at the park and she was super cool, but I don't think her parents are okay with us teaching her :/ And Amanda and Brad don't want to meet with us anymore, which was really sad to find out. So, we've visited with quite a few members this week in search of opportunities to teach people they know, and to simply help them in their own efforts. The people in our area are wonderful, and so loving, so I'm certain its just a matter of time.

We are still meeting with Christina, and her heart is softening toward the Book of Mormon, it's kind of thrilling to watch and to see the difference in her since I got to Selah. She knows it can bless her, its just a matter of time before she sees how it already has.

WE WENT TO THE TEMPLE WITH ANA ON SATURDAY. The whole thing happened so abruptly, she messaged me on Wednesday that she was going Saturday, o we scrambled to get everything worked out and Elder and Sister Call who used to be in the mission office drove us :) (sidenote: they are the cutest people, Sister Tenney and I were just gushing about them later haha) It was a total miracle to get to go to the temple, and to see Ana there. Sister Zollinger and her companion were able to come too and that was way cool to see her. She goes home in a week! so it was a tender mercy to get to talk to her before she leaves. I love being able to see Gods hand showing us how He knows us so well.

Okay, I'll explain the subject line: At dinner yesterday, we were talking with Sister McDougall about her mission and what she misses most and she said that she misses how powerful the Spirit was. When you're a missionary, you have SO MUCH of the Spirit, and when you're home, you simply don't need quite as much since you're not on the front lines. She said you're given what you need and then.. the machine gun analogy lol. enjoy. :)

Much Love!

p.p.s. the drink stuff was from our lowkey NYE celebration :)
p.p.p.s. Sister Lewis turned 60 this week! Hence the HBD pic

Who's ready to #LighttheWorld!?!?!

What's crackalackin? I'll tell you what,... I got my trunky call this week :( Basically that is when the office missionaries call you because you have 3 months left on your mission and they have to get info for flight plans.. :( I cried; I didn't expect it to come this fast or to be this sad.  On a happy note, Brad and Amanda are my fave people. We had an amazing lesson with them on Tuesday. We taught Brad about the gospel being restored through Joseph Smith and Amanda pretty much taught like 1/2 of it. She explained to him what the priesthood is and described the First Vision so well. We were so proud :) It has been amazing to see their growth in just the last few weeks and to hear them talk about the changes God has wrought in their lives and how excited they are for more changes. Brad got kind of emotional during our lesson as we talked about why he feels being baptized will be a blessing for him and his family. He talked about Sister McKnight and I and the impact w...

"Love God with all your heart.."

Hi Friends! It has been a week. dang.  We got to do a whole lot of service this week which was really fun. It's kinda wonderful to get to think all about someone else even for just an hour. I do a heck of a lot of thinking in a day, so I need a break sometimes and service is the way to do it. The great thing is, if you're doing it right, more than just the service projects feel like service, practically all we do as missionaries is serve, so I get to think about others all the time! yay! One of the things we got to do was go brush horses at Hart Ranch. Sue Hart, the owner, is super sweet and she gave us those gloves as a Christmas gift and we're going back this week to help her put up all her Christmas stuff cause she's getting kinda old, plus we love to do that.  I'm coming up on 3 months and since Sister Zollinger is very likely going to be leaving Terrace Heights at the end of this transfer, I've been thinking a lot about what I've learne...

"We are willing to knock on strangers doors" -the theme of missionary work

Other potential subject lines from this week: "Let your grammar nazi go nuts over that!" -Sister Walker. Yup, she loves me.  "I love us". Guys, Sister Walker and I are like a comedic duo. It's so much fun. It. Has. Been. A week. We've had quite a bit of snow too, which cause some issues with commuting places.. and seeing how our two areas are full of small towns that are in the hills, its caused a kink in our plans (thumbs up). BUT, all is well because leading up to the catastrophic "snowmageddon" as they are calling it, were a ton of Miracles! Alrighty y'all take a seat, strap in, grab some popcorn. I got lots to share.  So, Monday night, it snowed a bunch, so we did District Council over FB video chat, which was fun lol, there was a lag, so the hymn singing was WAY OFF, but it was good. We had interviews and since we had to do that over FB too, I FB chatted with Sister Jackman, man I love that lady. She's so much like my...
