"I can see Jesus in your eyes"

Hi Friends!!

JUTTA WAS BAPTIZED THIS WEEKEND! Sorry for using my outside voice, but I am so thrilled! She is absolutely incredible, and she's setting a wonderful example for her family(which is already rubbing off, her husband John came to church the day she was confirmed and her daughter Scarlet wants to meet with us!) oh, the miracles that conversion can bring. Sister Jensen and I spoke and neither of us were super duper prepared to stand up and speak, but the Spirit is the MVP and saved the day, like usual.

In other news, we were tracting one day and came upon a woman hardcore weeding a flowerbed so we stopped to help and ended up spending an extended amount of time with her as we ripped up all sorts of plants and dug up irises with our hands. We were able to get to know her a lot better that way and she talked about her conversion and the missionaries that met with her over the course of 5 years (LA, yup!) and how she'd stopped attending church when she remarried, but then asked us when and where church was so she could come :) My favorite part was the next day, we were tracting in the same area and we were talking with a man and he said he'd seen us the day before helping Jeanette do yard work and he was so impressed. I will forever be grateful for the impulse to help that my mission has instilled in me, and the light that one simple act can spread. I sincerely hope that my eyes will continue to be searching for opportunities to serve throughout the rest of my life. Its so fulfilling, and without us even realizing it, it touched Gary's heart so he would listen to us when we knocked on his door the next day.

so much to say, so little time, the synopsis is as follows:

Being a missionary is the BEST, 10 out of 10, would recommend.

Much Love,

Sister Shuldberg

p.s. the subject line is a quote from a man we me tracting

p.p.s. also while tracting that same day, a man opened his door and I said "Hi!" and he goes "Not yet, but I'm fixin' to get high" lol not a good thing, but I was amused

Pictures are:

1. my brute strength with which I tore up weeds obviously

2. the beauty of making promises with Heavenly Father

3. we painted a garage, ... no comment lol

"We are willing to knock on strangers doors" -the theme of missionary work

Other potential subject lines from this week: "Let your grammar nazi go nuts over that!" -Sister Walker. Yup, she loves me.  "I love us". Guys, Sister Walker and I are like a comedic duo. It's so much fun. It. Has. Been. A week. We've had quite a bit of snow too, which cause some issues with commuting places.. and seeing how our two areas are full of small towns that are in the hills, its caused a kink in our plans (thumbs up). BUT, all is well because leading up to the catastrophic "snowmageddon" as they are calling it, were a ton of Miracles! Alrighty y'all take a seat, strap in, grab some popcorn. I got lots to share.  So, Monday night, it snowed a bunch, so we did District Council over FB video chat, which was fun lol, there was a lag, so the hymn singing was WAY OFF, but it was good. We had interviews and since we had to do that over FB too, I FB chatted with Sister Jackman, man I love that lady. She's so much like my...

#whywouldyoudothat

Hi Friends!   Okay, so I  know that missions are supposed to be hard (and don't get too crazy, it's still hard) but it's way fun too! All these different people warning me that it would be so hard and all that got me super worried, but I LOVE it. there's something hard everyday, but there are MIRACLES everyday too, it's crazy.  We have so many Investigators that are doing so well and it baffles my mind to see their progress. It's truly isn't because of us. We're obedient and do our best to listen to the Spirit. EVERYTHING else is out of our hands. The highlight of this week was Ana, who I mentioned last week. Her baptismal date is set for November 25th and she's practically adopted us, she told us that God sent us to her and she's keeping us, sorry mom. :/ She's got such an affect on all the people that she meets too, She's gonna be the means of so many people coming closer to Christ, I can feel it.  We've got so many parents i...
