"just keep asking me if I did my homework"

hello, hello!!

The quote comes from Dakoda who hadn't read what we asked him to when we went to see him yesterday, so he ran inside when we were mid word and shouted "Mom! remind me to do my homework! Jus- Just keep asking me if I did my homework!" I could barely hold it in and it wasn't the only funny thing that he said that day.

Fun story: Last Monday we were walking back to our car after talking with Juttas kids for a little bit and these two guys drove up in a truck and one guy asked Sister wilcox if she has a snapchat, to which she said no, and the other guy asked me if I have a snapchat, and I said "No, but we can come to your house sometimes and talk with you about Jesus Christ?" They kinda hesitated and then asked what church we go to. WE got their names and an address, so nothin yet, but stay tuned for a story about Buster.

District Meeting has officially been changed to District Council, which was super cool. We all got together and we talked about what a council is and how to counsel together and then discussed the people that we've been working with and how we can help them. It was way cool to put 10 brains together instead of just 2 and we got some super cool ideas for the people that we have been helping, plus, I got some cool insights for myself.

Sad story: Devyn, the amazing 17 year old who had become our best friend over the month that we had been meeting with him, turned cold. Something happened and he now doesn't want anything to do with us or the Gospel. The worst part was knowing that he's denying answers that God has given him, and that we won't be able to help him since he's changed his mind about it. It legitimately felt like we'd been broken up with.

But, even though my mission has allowed me to know what heartbreak feels like, we saw a lot of good this week too. The best one, was meeting with Erika and Karla (her daughter). I'm pretty sure that I've mentioned Erika before but for a while we were unable to get ahold of her, so we didn't meet with her, but this last week, we met with them and talked about the Book of Mormon and the REstoration, and it was super cool to see how Karla was so interested to truly understand and how that kind of got Erika more invested as well. They are doing this together this time and its going to be full of miracles.

Love y'all!!
Sister Shuldberg

p.s. we knocked into a couple dispute. I shall elaborate: We knocked on Nikolays door and met his wife who was not super happy that he had been meeting with us(which explains where he disappeared to). She kinda got a little snippy saying that he should come to her church, because he went to ours, and before I could help it I was like "yikes.."... we left pretty soon after that lol

"the road's that way"

Hi Friends! It has been one heck of a week. Goodbyes, packing, transfers, new area(and companion and roommates and routine),service, walking, and missionary work interspersed with all of that, we'll see what I can put into coherent thought. My new companion is Sister Jensen. She's been out just over 6 months (and I hit 5 tomorrow!) and has been in Ephrata fro 6 weeks or so. We're both still pretty new, but we've got a good feeling about this transfer and we're gonna learn a lot and work hard. I'm excited. We live with another set of Sisters which has been a little more of an adjustment, to go from spending 4 1/2 months living with one person to living with 3 who already have a groove that now I have to fit into. But they are all wonderful people and we've had some fun in these last 4 1/2 days. I'm going to learn a lot here and its exciting to see how Heavenly Fathers hand was involved in all of this. I know I'm supposed to be here in Ephrata and ...

"we don't want to break into our car..."

Hi Friends!  So, I'll start with the funny story. on Thursday we had to go back the apartment to grab a Book of Mormon Lelani had given us to write our testimonies in and as we were leaving, I locked the handle, like we always do and closed the door. Sister Jensen looked at me and asked if I had a key  to the apartment, which I had the spare in my bag. Turns out she meant the car key, which was attached to the apartment key, which had been left inside. and my copy of the apartment key, along with our phone, etc were all locked in the car. We tried to card the door, but unluckily, our apartment isn't very easy to break into haha. So we prayed(which is where the quote comes from, Sister Jensen couldn't keep it together after that) WE called the sisters we live with on our neighbors phone after calling the mission office to get the number, left a voicemail, and walked to our appointment. I'd left my coat in the car too, so it got cold pretty quick, but after seeing Jean...

"Are you eating the Bible I gave you?!?" -Ally to baby sister Emma

Hello one and all!  Jersey came to church yesterday! :) She is a girl we met a couple weeks ago after reaching out to the missionaries who were here last year and they'd mentioned her parents. When we met her, she asked if we could come read the Bible with her because "I need church". Of course, we agreed. She came for choir practice beforehand and stayed the whole time. Her first Sunday, she was there for over 4 hours, and she loved every bit of it :) and they loved her :)  We also got to do some community-lighting this week! If you aren't friends with me on Facebook.. shame on you, but it's okay, I will share. Selah has a couple places around that have apples with the word Selah in them(probably because Washington apples, and because Treetop is located here) so we went in to City Hall Tuesday morning and asked the mayor if she would be okay with us adding something to the one just outside the building, she said yes :) She also asked me to tell the man walkin...
