Facing the strange, ch-ch-change-es

Hello, hello!

It's transfer week! Sister Jensen is heading to Wenatchee and I'm getting Sister Wilcox, who is absolutely amazing. It's going to be great. But I've realized recently that I like change..when I'm the one in charge of it lol. That has been a major theme of these last few months, learning to trust the Lord's timing and His plan. I know that His hands are guiding President Lewis, and that there are people here in Ephrata that I still need to help, that there are people in Wenatchee that Sister Jensen can impact immensely, and its very likely that there is something I can learn from Sister Wilcox in the time we'll spend together.

We had Fast and Testimony meeting on Sunday and something that one of the high councilmen, Brother Norris, shared was really cool. A couple of weeks ago, we'd had dinner with him and his wife and had shared with them the video "Ask of God" about Joseph Smiths prayer and subsequent vision. They shared with us how they came to gain a testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith and we invited them to share it with someone. Brother Norris, at church yesterday shared how he did just that. He has a neighbor who goes by the name of Catfish and Sister Jensen and I had met him previously, talked with him for a bit and gave him a Book of Mormon(this was the man who told us he could see Jesus in our eyes if anyone remembers that email). Catfish lives next to the Norris' so Brother Norris was walking past and started up a conversation with him. Catfish told him about us coming over and how he'd gone inside and told his wife that he just met two angels. He told Brother Norris that right as we left, he felt like he should've sat down and visited with us longer, invited us to sit and talk, or something. Brother Norris told him that we carry the Spirit of the Lord with us and thats what he felt and Catfish told him how precious the Book of Mormon is to him and that he will definitely read it. As he shared this account, I got major chills. It is amazing to get to see or hear the result of knocking on a random door.

For a dinner message lately, we've been sharing Alma 37:6, (go read it), and having people count the a's. Typically they'll guess 9-11, occasionally 14. Counting the footnote, there are 15. And then we talk about how that small and simple thing(the footnote) can lead to so much more knowledge and how it can often go unnoticed. It's the same with our testimonies. We may often feel like the impact we have is minimal if existent and by default, choose not to take action. If we share out testimonies, or reach out and do the small and simple things, we can make an immense impact and lead someone to so much more knowledge and opportunity. so, write down your testimony, or just something uplifting, and carry that paper with you. If you have the sincere desire, the Holy Spirit will help you to now who needs that message and what impact you can make. Trust Him, and trust our Father in Heaven..He knows better.

Sorry for the length, but its important. I love you all!!

"This is Sister Shuldberg and Sister Jensen.. er no Sister Wilcox"

Oh, the adjustments that come with a new companion. and you'd think with how many times I've introduced Sister Wilcox to people, I would've known to answer the phone with her name.. guess not oh well, Hi Friends! (I can't not start my email with that, I'm on a 7 1/2 month roll) It seriously feels like its been 3 weeks since I emailed last.. and each day has felt like at least 3 days.. does that add up right?   Ephrata is lighting up y'all. funny thing about being a missionary, I get crazy excited about fairly minor things. For example, one of those miracles that I got to witness was as we talked to a man named Garrett. He did not seem interested, he actually looked almost amused, but as we continued talking with him and testified of the Book of Mormon, his expression softened. He accepted a copy and said we could come back. I'd never noticed peoples countenance change so clearly, it was cool to witness.  more miraculous, Debbie brought her boyfriend S...

He is a God of Miracles

Hi Friends! So.... Sister Zollinger is being transferred to Wenatchee, like forever away. going to miss her so much, but Terrace Heights is seriously on fire.  We saw so many miracles this week! The other day, Sister Zollinger remembered how President Lewis once said to ask Less Actives if we could practice lessons on them because lots of times they don't feel like they need lessons but its a way to help them feel the Spirit, so we figured we'd give it a shot. IT TOTALLY WORKED. We taught the Plan of Salvation to a less active elderly couple who hadn't been to church in a few years and halfway through the lesson, Sister Weldon was crying so hard that she couldn't read the scripture we gave her. It was so powerful to see the change in their countenance as we talked and afterward (and since) Brother Weldon has thanked us profusely for coming over. Its a really good feeling to be able to see people open their hearts to the Spirit. We also "practiced" th...

Who's ready to #LighttheWorld!?!?!

What's crackalackin? I'll tell you what,... I got my trunky call this week :( Basically that is when the office missionaries call you because you have 3 months left on your mission and they have to get info for flight plans.. :( I cried; I didn't expect it to come this fast or to be this sad.  On a happy note, Brad and Amanda are my fave people. We had an amazing lesson with them on Tuesday. We taught Brad about the gospel being restored through Joseph Smith and Amanda pretty much taught like 1/2 of it. She explained to him what the priesthood is and described the First Vision so well. We were so proud :) It has been amazing to see their growth in just the last few weeks and to hear them talk about the changes God has wrought in their lives and how excited they are for more changes. Brad got kind of emotional during our lesson as we talked about why he feels being baptized will be a blessing for him and his family. He talked about Sister McKnight and I and the impact w...
