we forgot how to use smartphones... ruh roh raggy

Hi Friends!

crazy, hectic, eventful week. such is life.
We set lots of goals this week to, and we're doing well. I don't want to just send a bunch of vague, semi-optimistic phrases, so here's a specific event:

We saw the coolest miracle yesterday because of technology + the Spirit. When we got our phones set up on Friday, there was record of two people of whom we had never heard of, and likely wouldn't have for awhile without ABP. so last night, our plans had fallen through and we were trying to figure out what to do/where to go and Sister Jensen(genius that she is in listening to promptings) suggests that we go by these people, I felt good about it, so off we went in search of their house. We knocked and the woman stepped out and talked about her previous interactions with the missionaries and her previous experiences with church and what caused her to stop attending church. We talked about the Book of Mormon and receiving an answer for herself and she told us how uncomfortable it his for her to just go up to a random church and join them. So we're going to give her a church tour on Thursday! :) bippity-bioppity-boo just like that! And without knowing about her, we probably would've gone tracting or something. Thank goodness we met her.

I love you all!
Sister Shuldberg

p.s. We're officially technology missionaries, so keep an eye out for my face on FB!! ahh, crazy!

p.p.s I made lots of animal friends this week. In one of the pictures, Sister Jensen and I are holding teeny tiny baby hamsters, then I put one on my shoulder, cause it kept trying to go up my arm, so why not? then it jumped off my shoulder and I have a bunch of blurry photos of us scrambling to find it under the chair that Jutta took as she laughed hysterically. yup. :D

"the road's that way"

Hi Friends! It has been one heck of a week. Goodbyes, packing, transfers, new area(and companion and roommates and routine),service, walking, and missionary work interspersed with all of that, we'll see what I can put into coherent thought. My new companion is Sister Jensen. She's been out just over 6 months (and I hit 5 tomorrow!) and has been in Ephrata fro 6 weeks or so. We're both still pretty new, but we've got a good feeling about this transfer and we're gonna learn a lot and work hard. I'm excited. We live with another set of Sisters which has been a little more of an adjustment, to go from spending 4 1/2 months living with one person to living with 3 who already have a groove that now I have to fit into. But they are all wonderful people and we've had some fun in these last 4 1/2 days. I'm going to learn a lot here and its exciting to see how Heavenly Fathers hand was involved in all of this. I know I'm supposed to be here in Ephrata and ...

"we don't want to break into our car..."

Hi Friends!  So, I'll start with the funny story. on Thursday we had to go back the apartment to grab a Book of Mormon Lelani had given us to write our testimonies in and as we were leaving, I locked the handle, like we always do and closed the door. Sister Jensen looked at me and asked if I had a key  to the apartment, which I had the spare in my bag. Turns out she meant the car key, which was attached to the apartment key, which had been left inside. and my copy of the apartment key, along with our phone, etc were all locked in the car. We tried to card the door, but unluckily, our apartment isn't very easy to break into haha. So we prayed(which is where the quote comes from, Sister Jensen couldn't keep it together after that) WE called the sisters we live with on our neighbors phone after calling the mission office to get the number, left a voicemail, and walked to our appointment. I'd left my coat in the car too, so it got cold pretty quick, but after seeing Jean...

"Are you eating the Bible I gave you?!?" -Ally to baby sister Emma

Hello one and all!  Jersey came to church yesterday! :) She is a girl we met a couple weeks ago after reaching out to the missionaries who were here last year and they'd mentioned her parents. When we met her, she asked if we could come read the Bible with her because "I need church". Of course, we agreed. She came for choir practice beforehand and stayed the whole time. Her first Sunday, she was there for over 4 hours, and she loved every bit of it :) and they loved her :)  We also got to do some community-lighting this week! If you aren't friends with me on Facebook.. shame on you, but it's okay, I will share. Selah has a couple places around that have apples with the word Selah in them(probably because Washington apples, and because Treetop is located here) so we went in to City Hall Tuesday morning and asked the mayor if she would be okay with us adding something to the one just outside the building, she said yes :) She also asked me to tell the man walkin...
