Sister Shuldberg

Dear Missionary Family,

We are delighted to report that your missionary has arrived safely to the Washington Yakima Mission.  We already love them and are excited to serve with them.  We are confident that they will become an effective instrument in the hands of the Lord in sharing the gospel with the people of Washington and Oregon.

We have assigned them a companion who is an experienced, devoted, and motivated missionary.  All of our missionaries understand that one of the greatest privileges available in the mission is to train a new missionary.  This first companion will be a special person in your missionary’s life and will help give them a great start here.

We feel that our greatest responsibility is the care and welfare of your child.  We want to assure you that we will be in regular contact with them and will be observant of their physical health, happiness and spiritual well-being.  We will work closely with them throughout their mission to help them succeed and fulfill their calling as a representative of the Church and as an ambassador of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Please be assured that we will be in contact with you if we encounter any concerns that would call for your attention.  You are a great asset to the success of your missionary while they are serving here and we will work closely with you if the need arises.  Please keep us apprised of any changes to the address, phone number or email for you, your bishop or your stake president.  We want to keep our records current so that we can contact you whenever necessary.

Attached is a photograph of your missionary taken with us at the welcome dinner at the mission home.  Please feel free to contact us at the mission office with any questions that you may have.

Thank you for the sacrifices you are making at home to have your missionary in the field.  We have seen the Lord bless the families of missionaries who are serving in untold ways.  We know that His blessings will be upon you as well.

With love and appreciation,
President John C. Lewis and Sister Ann Lewis

"We are willing to knock on strangers doors" -the theme of missionary work

Other potential subject lines from this week: "Let your grammar nazi go nuts over that!" -Sister Walker. Yup, she loves me.  "I love us". Guys, Sister Walker and I are like a comedic duo. It's so much fun. It. Has. Been. A week. We've had quite a bit of snow too, which cause some issues with commuting places.. and seeing how our two areas are full of small towns that are in the hills, its caused a kink in our plans (thumbs up). BUT, all is well because leading up to the catastrophic "snowmageddon" as they are calling it, were a ton of Miracles! Alrighty y'all take a seat, strap in, grab some popcorn. I got lots to share.  So, Monday night, it snowed a bunch, so we did District Council over FB video chat, which was fun lol, there was a lag, so the hymn singing was WAY OFF, but it was good. We had interviews and since we had to do that over FB too, I FB chatted with Sister Jackman, man I love that lady. She's so much like my...

I remember laughing, but I don't remember why..

Okay, yes I'm a terrible person, I sent you all those pictures with absolutely no explanation. So get comfortable, here's two weeks worth... EXPLANATION OF LAST WEEKS PICTURES: -SUPER bomb ice cream at East Wind Drive-In in Cascade Locks(Oregon, yep its still weird).. and that was the small -delish tacos from a taco truck(I ate tongue!) -McKenzie's skunk Bumper. he is their pet, and she snuggles with him. They have 2 skunks, 3 possums, a couple raccoons, and a couple deer, as well as 3 dogs, and a couple cats... -Car numero uno is Guapo(our car), car numero dos is Gordo(The Dalles elders car). We had to trade for a couple of days and they took Guapo up to Yakima for some work.. its good to have him home -oh, and Sister Walker eating a cinnamon roll(that McKenzie's dad made) faster than humanly possible Now for this week :) Zone Conference on Tuesday, which was phenomenal, like usual. We have another mission meeting in a few weeks and all the departing mission...

"unicorns and caticorns and mermicorns" -Laila

Hello world! Quick rundown of our week(cause time is hecka limited) So, we didn't go ANYWHERE Monday through Friday(except when the RS president cam e and took us to go grocery shopping). Why? Our car was dead as a doornail AND the snow was much too much. But, we talked to lots of people through technology(blessed) and Sister Walker made her first snowman AND went sledding for the first time(we had to trek down to the mailbox to mail a letter).  We had virtual district council again, which was fun and even did a virtual roleplay, very weird.  The Zone Leaders sent us a song on Thursday cause I was havin a cabin fever freakout (thumbs up) it was sweet, and it motivated our FB post, spreadin the love.  On Saturday, we experienced FREEDOM anew. The world is beautiful, especially through a car window driving away from our home-turned-prison. It was a glorious day and we went up to Goldendale that evening for Steve's baptism! Those of you who are dedicated fans may r...
